About Robert Jenrick
Robert Edward Jenrick (born 9 January 1982 in Wolverhampton, England) is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Newark since winning a by‑election in June 2014. He has held several ministerial posts: Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury (2018–2019), Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government (2019–2021), Minister of State for Health (September–October 2022), and Minister of State for Immigration (October 2022–December 2023). In November 2024, he was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and Shadow Lord Chancellor. Prior to entering politics, Jenrick studied history at St John’s College, Cambridge, followed by political science at the University of Pennsylvania, and qualified as a solicitor in 2008 after legal studies. He practiced corporate law and held leadership roles at Christie’s before his parliamentary career began.
